About Me

I live in Northwestern British Columbia, Canada. I have three children, ages 21, 6 and 4. I have been teaching for 13 years, mostly within secondary, adult, alternate and aboriginal education. I have spent most of my time within special education and am currently enrolled in a Masters of Education program, with concentration in Special Education at University of Northern BC. Recently, I have been becoming more familiar with elementary education and the importance of working with children when they are young.

I like to travel and look forward to meeting other people who also work within areas of special education. I hope that I can keep my career within this area and that I can utilize my strengths and training to make a difference with my students.

Affiliations:

I have a Teaching Certificate  for British Columbia and Ontario.

Areas of professional interests and/or research:

I am completing my Masters of Special Education. I am interested in learning more about Dyslexia, Autism and Behaviour Disorders and have done some research and some research papers within these areas. I am also an advocate for cooperative learning and differentiated instruction in the classroom and actively engage in this to model to my peers.
