Transportation from Prague to Pilsen

There are both train and bus connections between Prague and Pilsen. 

Both buses and trains depart from the main train station in the city center. Buses to Pilsen also depart from the Praha - Zličín and Praha - Florenc stops.

In case of train transportation, tickets may be purchased either at the Prague main train station Praha hl.n. or online at www.cd.cz/en/default.htm.

Bus ticket may be purchased at the company’s website www.flixbus.cz and preferably well in advance.


Again, if you want to travel from Prague to Pilsen by train, you can buy your train ticket with Euros, Czech currency or credit card at the Main Train Station in Prague which is Praha hl.n. (Praha halvni nadrazi). For those of you who are staying at the Hotel Victoria you can get off at the Plzen-Jizni Predmesti station which is the next stop after the main station in Plzen hl.n. (Pilsen-hlavni nadrazi). For those staying at other downtown hotels, the main station is the one to get off and take bus or taxi to hotel.

Once you are in Pilsen, you may want to consider buying an all day ticket (84 CZK) around 4 USD a day for riding the bus, trolleybus or trams using your credit/debit card on machine on bus or trams. If interested, the website is https//jizdnirady.pmdp.cz and you can click on for English version.

Transportation from Václav Havel Airport

To get from Václav Havel Airport to main train station, you can take the Airport Express, which runs every half an hour. The prize is 100 CZK and the Express goes directly between the airport and the station. All about the Express, tickets and departure time, can be found on www.prg.aero/airport-express

To get to the Praha – Zličín bus station, you can take city bus number 100, which departs from the airport from two stops, namely Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. A standard Prague Integrated Transport ticket is required for this connection, which costs 30 CZK and can be purchased from a ticket machine at the stop or on the bus.
