Conference Registration Packet

Registration Overview

Please register on or before February 1, 2015 to take advantage of the Early Bird registrant fee and save $100.00 US. The registration form is included at the end of this packet. You may register and pay on-line, via e-mail or via postal mail. An email confirmation will be send upon receipt and processing of your registration. PLEASE note that no credit cards will be accepted on-site at the conference.

Conference Materials

Conference materials may be picked up on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 1:00-5:00 pm at the IASE conference registration center in the lobby of the University of Lower Silesia University at Wagonowa 9, 53-609 Wroclaw.

Accommodations

Here you will find a list of the conference hotels that have been selected by the local arrangements committee. Each conference participant needs to make their own housing accommodations by contacting the selected hotel per the instructions on the Hotel Information Sheet. Please note that room rates are only being held until the listed date for that hotel. To select a hotel and make a reservation, click on the "Selected Conference Hotels" button below.

Opening Reception, Gala Dinner and Auctions

The Opening Reception, the Gala Dinner and the silent and live auctions are included in your registration fees. The Opening Reception will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 pm at the University of Lower Silesia. The Gala Dinner will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Centennial Hall . Transportation to and from the Gala Dinner will be provided and details will be available in your registration packet. Traditional/cultural dress from your country is encouraged . Please consider bringing an item from your country to contribute to the Silent and Live Auctions. For more information on the Silent and Live Auctions, contact Sal Zimmerman at szimmerman5@schools.nyc.gov. Proceeds from the auction will go to Marg Csapo Scholarship Fund. You will not want to miss this night to meet with IASE delegates, fellow educators from all over the world.

Children’s Art

This conference will showcase children’s art projects from all over the world. If you have contacts or connections and would like to bring children’s art items to display, please contact Kathleen Brown at k-brown5@neiu.edu or Clarissa Rosas at clarissa-rosas@mail.msj.edu.

Conference Proceedings

The proceedings of the conference will be included on a travel drive as part of your registration materials.

Transportation:

Wroclaw’s public transportation system is easy to use and fairly inexpensive with 120 bus lines and 23 tram lines. You will rarely need buses or trams to get around the Old Town.

The Nicolaus Copernicus airport is located just over 10 km from the city center. The trip to the city center takes about 30 minutes and you can take the bus or taxi to your hotel.

OPTIONAL School or Rehabilitation Center tours

Conference participants will be able to visit three schools in Wroclaw or the Mikoszow Rehabilitation Center in Strzelin. These tours will be on Thursday, June 25, 2015 and will be an additional charge that will be in addition to your conference registration fees.

Tour of Schools in Wroclaw

Join fellow conference attendees on a tour of three educational facilities in Wroclaw, Poland. Each bus will visit CeKiRON, the Center for Education and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, which is a supra-regional center for people with physical disabilities; Special School-Educational No.1, a public institution governed by the Municipality of Wroclaw; and the Lower Silesian Special Center No. 13 for Blind and Partially Signed. Spend the day visiting all of these educational facilities to view how services are provided in a variety of settings.

Buses leave at 8:00 and will return at the end of the tour. A box lunch will be provided.

Cost: $25.00 per person

Tour of the Rehabilitation Center

Join fellow conference attendees in an all day tour to the Society of Saint Celestine Rehabilitation Center. Enjoy the scenic bus tour to Strzelin where you will spend the day touring this remarkable site. The four main areas of activity of the Association of St. Celestine’s are medicine, rehabilitation, education and work for people with disabilities.

Buses leave at 8:00 and will return at the end of the tour. Lunch will be provided at the Center

Cost: $40.00 per person

Sightseeing Tours

There have been a series of sightseeing tours planned throughout Poland by Wroclaw Travel Service. You can access a detailed description of each tour on the IASE website. All reservations will be paid by credit card on the IASE website and MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 1, 2015. No reservations for sightseeing tours can be made after February 1, 2015. Prices for trips with overnight accommodations are for twin rooms. If you require a single room the price will increase (Krakow tours $30 per night; Berlin tour $26). In order for a tour to go, there must be the minimum number of participants as detailed below
