There are several important reminders for all participants in our upcoming 18th Biennial Conference in Pilsen:
Thursday, June 27th (Site visits)
*You can still sign up for site visits on website: IASE.ORG
Friday June 28th: Conference registration and Conference opening Ceremony
Saturday June 29th: Conference Registration and Conference Presentations and Poster Sessions
Sunday June 30th: Conference Presentations
Monday July 1: Conference Presentations, Closing Ceremony, evening Gala Dinner and Auction
As in previous years, IASE and the local Czech committee will host two events that will provide opportunities for conference participants to share items for both the Silent Auction which will have a table each day from June 28-30th at which we will auction off selected items to the highest bidder each day.. and the LIve Auction which is held at the end of the Gala Dinner on Monday, July 1st. Items for these events should be from your home communities, countries and cultural traditions that would be of interest to conference participants and their guests.
Purpose: The Silent and Live Auction raises money for the Dr. Marg Csapo Scholarship Fund. The fund provides a partial stipend for IASE members (over one year) who need help and financial support to attend our IASE conferences. This covers hotel and registration only.
Silent Auction and Live Auction
Participants should bring their selected Items to be collected for either auction as they register for the conference.
Participants will be asked to fill out a form with their name and donation item. The items are placed in a secure room and divided up as silent or live auction items. Items that would sell for a higher price like a painting, national craft or art would be placed in our live auction.
Silent Auction
A table is established for silent auction only and is available each conference day.
Each item will be displayed on the table where you can make your bid.
Bidders are reminded to check back after the last tea break to see if they won the bid and collect their purchase.
Money is collected and given to the IASE treasurer or President Elect at the end of the day.
Live Auction
If you have items for the Live auction you need to bring them when you register or prior to the Gala dinner and remember to fill out form with name and donated item in order for the item(s) to be reviewed and displayed for the auction.
After the dinner, there will be several IASE members who will act as Auctioneers and welcome everyone and give an overview of the auction process.
Volunteers will walk around the room displaying item that will be auctioned off.
A form will be filled out and given to the treasurer with credit card info unless they pay cash. Money needs to be collected via volunteer and given to the treasurer at this Gala Dinner Event.
Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner will be held at the Mestanska-Beseda Building in downtown Pilsen. This event starts at 6pm. So make sure that you and your guests sign up for this wonderful dinner that includes some special local entertainment and ends with the important Live Auction. Please remember to dress in attire that reflects your local community and/or country's traditions as we have participants form 34 countries. Our hope is that you will join us and our Czech Republic colleagues for a great interactional experience that will end the 18th Biennial IASE Conference in Pilsen, the Czech Republic. Again, by purchasing one or several items at the Live Auction this will benefit IASE members who are early in their special education carriers and may require some additional financial support to continue their professional journey.
